Lodging

All of you have been invited to stay at the wedding venue, Camp Wandawega, with us for Friday and Saturday nights. This historic camp is super quaint and perfectly curated, while sitting on a beautiful piece of land on a lake, but be fair warned, it is RUSTIC. There is no AC or wifi. It has shared showers and most of the beds are pretty small. Come prepared to have a low maintenance weekend of fun summer camp nostalgia vibes! We want this experience to not just be a wedding, but offer an opportunity to unplug, unwind, drink a High Life, and float on the lake. We will be assigning rooms/cabins based on groupings of guests and maximizing the minimal spaces available. We will do our best to make everyone as comfy as possible but if you are concerned about having a more ‘comfortable’ weekend, we will not be offended if staying down the road at the Hampton Inn or Holiday inn feels like a better choice to you! we understand this might not be for everyone. we will be letting everyone know closer to the wedding day where specifically you will be staying, so that you can prepare.

the cost to stay on site is between $150-$250 per person (so $300-$500 per couple) for the whole weekend, depending on where you’ll be placed. we’ll be in touch directly with all of you about your placement and cost.

if you are scouring the website to learn more, note that not every cabin is available for use.

  • the sycamore cabin is the owners cabin.
  • steve and i will be staying in the hill house for the weekend
  • The treehouse is not a lodging cabin, just a ‘hang’ cabin
  • the welcome, nature, and craft cabins are not lodging cabins

Bathrooms

if i (anna) was invited to this wedding, one of my first questions would be about bathrooms and getting ready for the ceremony and reception!

all the bathrooms are shared, there are no ‘private’ bathrooms

  • the bunkhouse has bathrooms both on the first and second floors, with multiple showers
  • the lakeview cabin has a half bath, but no shower
  • the geo-dome, a frame, sterlingworth, hickory canvas tent, girl scout cabins, log cabin, and cedar cabins do not have bathrooms
  • those staying in those spots will use one of the many bathrooms/showers on site. there are both women’s and men’s bathrooms at the bottom of the bunk house that are accessible from the outside. you may also go into the bunk house to use the bathrooms in there.
  • there’s an ‘outdoor’ latrine with mens/womens showers near the main yard of the camp
  • for those of you staying up on the hill (A frame, geo-dome, hickory canvas tent, girl scout cabins), there are brand new permanent bathrooms currently being built (and will be done by the wedding weekend) that are nearby all of you that will be in these spots. these do not have showers, but have flushable toilets and sinks that close by to use in the night should you need them. Take a look at their instagram post about it here.

Again, think of this as going back to summer camp and lean into the weirdness. bring your shower shoes!

Getting Ready

from 1-4pm the day of the wedding, we will be setting up a “glam” area in the tent on the main lawn.

this will include tables & chairs, mirrors, and powerstrips, and probably a few bottles of crisp white wine.

bring your hair dryer, make up, and curling irons to this area after you shower to allow others to use the bathrooms to shower. of course if you have room in your cabin/room and there are plugs for your hair tools, feel free to get ready in there as well!
